I’m excited to share that I’ll be the closing keynote speaker at the 2018 Thunder Plains developer conference on November 1!
Thunder Plains is is a web and mobile developer conference that focuses on Community, JavaScript and related tech that makes the web interesting. It’s run by Techlahoma, a volunteer-run non-profit dedicated to advancing Oklahomans through accessible tech training and community building. They have events daily at StarSpace46 and this is their yearly large developer conference. My first Thunder Plains was in 2016 and I loved every minute of it. There’s something magical about being around so many other people that are just as excited about technology as I am. I’m honored for this opportunity and am so, so excited for this!
There are SO MANY great talks lined up this year, and I’m excited to talk about how anyone has the power to “Code the Change” they want to see in the world! I’m going to talk about the tools, resources, and strategies we used to do just that. From Seed to Spoon was nothing but an idea a little over a year ago, and now it has over 50k downloads and climbed to the top of the App Store for our category in less than 6 months. I’m going to talk all about how we did, and how you can too!
These events are also a great opportunity to network and find career opportunities. I highly recommend going to these and meeting people, especially if you’re new in the industry. You never know what you’ll learn, what you could teach, or what can come from it. The folks at Techlahoma Foundation do an amazing job with this event, and they’re passionate about making Oklahoma a great place for technologists. They’ve already done so much to improve things, and I’m excited to see things continue to grow. Join us at Thunder Plains on Nov 1!
