How Our Plants Handled the Freezing Weather

We’ve been having quite extreme ups and downs in our temperatures here in Oklahoma (zone 7). We had a sudden freeze last week and covered some of our plants and left some other plants exposed to the 20’s weather that we had. I show how all our plants (including broccoli, kale, lettuce, spinach, mesclun mix, microgreens, swiss chard, cabbage, rosemary, thyme, parsley, sage, thyme) handled the weather.

We moved out “raised beds on legs” over to the east side of the house so they’ll be shaded from the afternoon sun. We planted 4 rows of beans in each using the square foot gardening spacing of 9 per square foot. After planting them, we moved our PVC dome’s over and replaced the plastic sheeting with insect netting that’ll hopefully keep bugs out and provide a bit of a break from the sun as well. […]
